Meet the Comedians
Nina G is a comedian and also a college and corporate speaker and author of three books. Her memoir, Stutterer Interrupted: The Comedian Who Almost Didn’t Happen, was released to critical acclaim in 2019 and is about realizing her lifelong comedy dream while overcoming internalized stigma. In February 2022, she launched her new book co-authored by OJ Patterson, Bay Area Stand-Up Comedy: A Humorous History. Nina has performed all over the United States and appeared on many daytime TV talk shows, NPR broadcasts, and podcasts.
Comedian Mean Dave has opened for many notable comedians like Josh Blue, Big Jay Oakerson, and Jay Mohr, and has performed at colleges across the US. Mean Dave’s role in the Comedians with Disabilities Act helps to bring his critical message about addiction and disabilities to audiences around the world.
Michael Beers was the winner of the Norman G. Brooks Comedy Competition at the Hollywood Improv in 2005. Michael was also the previous winner of Funny Fest (Calgary Comedy Festival) and has opened for comedians like Gilbert Gottfried. He is also a sought after keynote speaker on topics like humor, disability advocacy, education and community building.
Chapter Event Policy: NASW-CA is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), nationality, level of experience or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of program participants in any form, nor do we tolerate behavior that would reasonably lead to another participant being made to feel unsafe, insecure, or frightened for their physical or emotional well-being. All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience. Program participants, vendors, and stakeholders, violating these rules may be expelled from the program without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers. By registering for the conference, you are agreeing to follow the code of conduct at NASW-CA virtual events.
NASW-CA Refund Policy: To receive a refund, requests must be emailed to email@example.com at least one (1) week prior to the event date. No refunds granted after the event, no exceptions. This policy also applies to group registrants. The refund for group registrations will go directly to the original payer of the registration fee. Refunds may take up to 10 days to process. If attendees pay with a credit card, the refund will be made to the same card. If attendees pay with a check, the refund will be made by check to the person or organization that originally paid for the registration.
