Social Workers Are Invited to Complete ASWB Analysis Survey

The Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), the organization responsible for developing and maintaining the woman-with-bullhornsocial work licensing and registration examinations, is conducting a comprehensive survey of North American social work practice. This survey process occurs every 7 to 10 years and is intended to capture current social work practice, which in turn informs the content of the social work examinations.

The survey will require you to respond to statements about tasks social workers perform (or do not perform) or the knowledge social workers needs to perform those tasks safely and competently. Your responses are confidential and will be combined with those from colleagues across the US and Canada. This aggregate data will be used to develop a comprehensive, up-to-date picture of the knowledge and skills needed by those in our profession. It should take approximately one hour to complete this survey.

On January 1, 2016 California began using the ASWB examination for licensure. So that the continued use of the ASWB exam is appropriate for California licensure, it is essential that California Licensed Clinical Social Workers participate in the ASWB practice analysis.

We understand you are busy, but please be assured that your participation will make a significant contribution to the profession. In addition, you will earn one hour of continuing professional education by filling out the survey.

Please use this link to access the survey:

http://apps.humrro.org/platform/Login/t05?instrId=83&password=bgaswb

Instructions for completing the survey are provided at the beginning of the survey.  It should take approximately one hour to complete; however, you may complete the survey in multiple sessions.

Please complete the survey no later than midnight (EST) on April 25, 2016.

Thank you in advance for providing your input, and your commitment to the social work profession.

Remember, if you want to receive continuing education credit, you must complete the survey.  ASWB will forward your CE certificate to you.

Further information on the study can be found at https://www.aswb.org/exam-candidates/about-the-exams/exam-development/practice-analysis/.

ASWB has contracted with the Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO) to conduct this survey. HumRRO has extensive experience with professional practice surveys and offers an easy, web-based experience. If you have any questions regarding the project in general, please click the following link: paquestions@aswb.org.
