Social Work Month is a special time for the SLO Unit. It is when we celebrate all social workers throughout our county as well as recognize one as our Social Worker of the Year.
For 2016, Lisa Huet, LCSW, has been selected. Ms. Huet, transplanted from Montreal, Canada, has been a 35-year resident of the Central Coast. She earned her BS degree in Psychology at Cal Poly and her MSW at the University of California, Berkeley.
Her social work career includes the Parent Support Center at the SLO County Child Welfare Services, Hospice Partners of the Central Coast, and Lecturer in the Human Development Department at Cuesta College. She is currently the Program Supervisor for the Wraparound Program at Family Care Network, Inc. (FCNI) where she supervises social workers who are treating our highest needs children and families. Her other commitment concerns cultural competency and she is on the SLO County Mental Health Cultural Competency Committee. Ms. Huet joined NASW in 2000 and served as Chair of the SLO Unit for 3 years, recruiting new social workers, and planning programs as well during the past 15 Years.
