The last San Luis Obispo Unit monthly meeting before our summer break (July and August) will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
The 1 CEU presentation, “Peoples’ Self Help Housing: Who and Are and What We Do?” will be led by Catherine Manning, LCSW; Rick Gulino, LCSW; and Brittany Carrway, LCSW. This joint presentation is focused on the 45 low income housing residences of the Duncan Group and how the Supportive Housing Program of Peoples’ Self Help Housing serves referred families of those complexes.
The Peoples’ Self Help Housing began in San Luis Obispo and is now celebrating 45 years of community service in the counties of Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo. Information about Self Help Homes built by the families themselves who now live in those homes will be shared as well as the Supportive Housing Program, which interfaces with multiple community agencies serving low-income individuals, seniors, veterans, victims of violence, and those experiencing mental health issues. Come and learn about this amazing organization while being refreshed on some case management, assessment skills, and community resources.
From 5:30pm to 6:15pm we network, eat snacks, and have a brief business meeting. The program begins at 6:15pm. To get directions to the meeting, please contact the unit at NASWSLO@gmail.com
