We are thrilled to announce that 2023 Legislative Lobby Days is now open for registration!

Lobby Days is a two-day event that educates more than 1,200 students and professionals about important legislation affecting clients and the social work profession. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the legislative process and get a “hands-on” lobbying experience of talking with state legislators and/or their staff about important policy issues.

2023 Legislative Lobby Days will be in-person for the Conference in Sacramento on Sunday, April 16, and virtual Lobby visits on Monday, April 17.

Early Bird Registration Now Open

Register by February 13 to enjoy Early Bird Pricing.

Schedule

Saturday, April 15 | Evening

  • In-person Team Leader Training (dinner included – for Team Leaders ONLY); SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento
  • In-person Volunteer Training; SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento

Sunday, April 16 | 9:00 am – 2:30 pm

  • Learn the basics of lobbying and prepare for legislative appointments
  • In-person Conference; SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento

Monday, April 17 | Varying times

  • Virtual Legislative Meetings (optional)
  • Virtual Social Action Rally and Legislative appointments (Attendees must attend Sunday to participate in Monday’s appointments)

  • Professional Social Workers in all fields
  • BSW and MSW Students
  • Social Work Professors

Attend the largest social work Lobby Days in California to:

  • Discover the legislative process and how to lobby Legislators and/or their staff. 
  • Learn about important legislation that affects social workers and the clients they serve.
  • Find out how all social workers, students, clinicians, organizers, and managers can have an impact on state policy.
  • Meet Legislators, their staff, and other important political contacts. Connect with other social workers and advocate for important social justice issues!
  • Serve as a Team Leader and gain valuable leadership experience by helping prepare participants for their legislative appointments.
  • Earn up to 8 CEUs
    • 3 CEUs if you attend Sunday
    • 6 CEUs if you attend both Sunday and Monday
    • 8 CEUs if you participate as a Team Leader

Get Involved and Participate to be a Team Leader or Volunteer

Earn up to 8 CEUs as a Team Leader, and receive a $20 registration discount as a Volunteer! Sign up as a Team Leader or Volunteer by Monday, March 27, 2023.

  • Monday, February 13, 2023 – Early Bird Discount Deadline
  • Monday, March 13, 2023 – Group Registration Deadline
  • Monday, March 27, 2023 – Final Deadline – Space is limited, and event may sell out earlier!
  • Monday, March 27, 2023 – Cancellation/Refund Deadline. A $10 fee is charged for all cancellations. No refunds after this date – no exceptions.
