I’d like to introduce myself and invite you to join our growing region’s team!
My name is Deborah Son and I am your new Region C Director for NASW-CA. I am honored and thrilled to be leading the revitalization of our region this year.
I am a recent graduate from Cal State East Bay, class of 2012. I served as founder and chair of the Asian and Pacific Islander Social Work Association during my graduate student tenure, and then served a term as the co-chair of NASW’s Asian and Pacific Islander Social Work Council.
I am currently employed as the program coordinator of the Highland Health Advocates at Highland Hospital in Oakland, a facet of a health advocacy movement in the Bay Area to address social determinants in safety net health care systems.
