On Friday, October 9, 2015 at the NASW-CA Annual State Conference, the NASWCA/ARC Statewide Council will proudly co-sponsor “Building Resilient Communities through Collective Impact” from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
Our internationally renowned presenter, Daniel Homsey, is the director of Neighborhood Resilience, Neighborhood Empowerment Network.
“Our country’s communities have never been under such sustained stress,” says Homsey. “From climate change to extreme economic cycles, our communities are on their heels every day trying to advance their goals in a culturally competent way. San Francisco has been prototyping a new systemic approach for advancing community resilience that leverages community development and leadership capacity building methods as its core methodologies. This presentation will outline how the Neighborhood Empowerment Network and its Empowered Communities Program is advancing the priorities of the neighborhoods and organizations that support them.”
Please also join the NASWCA/ARC Statewide Council and the Disabilities Council for a joint in-person meeting inside the back of Houlihan’s Restaurant in the Holiday Inn at 275 S. Airport Blvd., South San Francisco from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to discuss preparedness for able bodied and disabled body persons along with opportunities for involvement with each of the councils.
Attendance is free of charge as both Councils provide hosted appetizers. There will be a “no host” dinner and drinks.
Please RSVP to either chairperson—Joni Diamond at jonidiamond@prodigy.net or Helene Diamond at hawdiamond@gmail.com
