There are two meetings in August that relate to the proposed Modernization process that the National NASW office has proposed and has for the most part started to implement. There has been some controversy about the Modernization Plan, so much so that as of July 19, 2016, nine NASW chapters voted “NO CONFIDENCE” in the “modernization plan” and its implementation. So that you may be more fully informed as a member, below are some meeting announcements that will help you learn about the issues.
The first meeting is a Town Hall meeting regarding perspectives of the modernization process facilitated by the Coalition of Concerned Members. (This is the coalition that emerged in reaction to the NASW Modernization proposal process and content).
Date: August 8, 12:00-2:00 pm (PST)

The second meeting is the Special Meeting of the Membership which was called due to a petition drive of 725 members by the Coalition of Concerned Members. This is the rescheduled meeting from April that was cancelled by National in April. This meeting is facilitated by NASW National.
Date: August 25, 12:00 pm (CST)
