“Social Workers Stand Up” is the theme for NASW’s work at the federal, state and local levels in 2017. Members of the Desert Cities Unit are Standing Up in support of those who are most vulnerable in our Coachella Valley communities. Planning is already underway for multiple civic actions: Million Women March, Homeless PIT Survey, Hunger Awareness Banquet and California Lobby Days and Social Work Month.
Instead of regularly-scheduled CEU and networking events, small workgroups are forming to plan and implement each of these events.
