You are invited to join a conference call on Tuesday, December 13th at 11:00 AM EST with the National Association of Social Workers’ (NASW) CEO, Dr. Angelo McClain; U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Senior Counselor, Andrea Palm; and White House Senior Associate Director of Public Engagement, Bess Evans to discuss the current open enrollment period for the Health Insurance Marketplace under the Affordable Care Act.
Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, over 20 million people have gained access to affordable, quality health coverage, but there is still room for us to build on the tremendous progress that we’ve made. There are over 650,000 professional social workers in the United States, many of whom work with hard to reach and vulnerable populations–including the justice involved, people who are homeless, people with mental health challenges, and communities of color–that may not be connected to health care. Together with The National Association of Social Workers, we aim to mobilize the social work community to connect clients they serve to health insurance and the certainty that comes with getting covered.
We encourage you to circulate this invitation to all of your members and network partners who would be interested in engaging in enrollment efforts before the crucial December 15th and January 31st deadlines.
