Happy Autumn! Region A has had a couple of changes in our volunteer leader line-up over the past several months so I’d like to update you with the new roster of leaders.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing Assistant Regional Director Mark Thoma, LCSW, who served in that capacity for many years as well as serving as the San Francisco unit chairperson. We are grateful that he will continue in his role as the San Francisco unit chairperson and continue to plan interesting and timely CEU events for that unit.
Sonoma unit chairperson Katrina Suprise, MSW, stepped down after almost two years of dedication and hard work in that unit. Thank you Katrina for your organizational skills, your hard work, and your commitment to the profession.
On July 1, Jessica Hernandez, MSW, became the new assistant regionaldDirector and has already put many hours in with meetings and planning activities. She has been actively involved in the Native American Council that was recently established and has attended the board of directors meeting to gain more knowledge.
In mid-summer, Jill Davidson, MSW, volunteered to join the local leadership as Sonoma unit chairperson. Jill is actively working on building community by planning monthly social gatherings for local members to get together for time to engage and network with your colleagues. Keep your eyes open for the schedule and location.
While there is no change in the Marin unit, I’d like to thank the ongoing commitment that Michelle Dowds provides to that unit.
Be sure to check the NASW California Chapter website for our contact details. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about goings on in Region A.
