Who’s Your Hero?
The California Social Welfare Archives (CSWA) is accepting nominations for the 2019 induction class of the California Social Work Hall of Distinction.
Social workers who receive this distinguished recognition are, or were: 1) original founders of the profession by virtue of developing standards or programs; 2) those who made extraordinary contributions to professional development, and; 3) those who, by exemplary practice, served as role models for other social workers.
Nominations must be submitted by January 15th to be considered for the upcoming year.
Honorees will be announced in the spring and inducted at a ceremony following the 2019 NASW-CA Annual Conference. The induction follows the Conference, which alternates between the northern and the southern parts of the state. In order to facilitate colleagues and family attending induction events, honorees are chosen from the region where the event is occurring in the given year; in 2019, honorees will be chosen from northern California.
Operating under the auspices of the CSWA at USC, the California Social Work Hall of Distinction recognizes social workers who, over the course of their career, have made extraordinary contributions to the development and practice of the social work profession in California. The Hall serves to ensure that the contributions of social work leaders and innovators are recognized and their stories shared and preserved. The Hall of Distinction Committee is comprised of social work leaders from universities and social work organizations throughout the state.
