The National Association of Social Workers, California Chapter (NASW-CA) is currently hiring a Director of Policy & Legislation to shape and advance the Chapter’s policy agenda and legal initiatives. NASW-CA works to enhance the professional growth and development of social workers, to create and maintain the highest ethical and professional standards, and to advocate for meaningful change in policies and laws that impact the well-being of communities we serve. 

Under the direction of the Executive Director, this position is responsible for developing and implementing policy strategies, engaging in lobbying efforts to promote NASW’s legislative agenda, offering expert guidance and consultation on legislative matters and ethical issues, and representing NASW’s interests and perspectives. The Director of Policy & Legislation will possess a strong knowledge of social work ethics and the NASW Code of Ethics, excellent written and verbal communication skills, sharp analytical and critical thinking skills, a high level of relationship building skills, and an MSW from an accredited program.
