The Sonoma Unit of Region A had a hugely successful Social Work Month celebration on March 26th. Held in the beautiful Great Blue Heron Hall at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation guests were treated to beautiful views, deliciously nutritious food from the Ceres Community Project and because of the sacredness of the location, the evening’s festivities started with a Native American blessing.
Guests laughed with and cried with presenter Mary Carouba as she graciously told her life story and thanked Social Workers for the work we do. The evening was capped off with the honoring of Catherine Arnold and Margie Helm as Social Workers of the Year for their commitment to the profession and the communities we serve.
