Prevent Claim Denials

Knowing the CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes most frequently used by clinical social workers to report psychotherapy services may help you prevent claim denials and overpayment requests when seeking reimbursement. However, because health insurance companies can decide individually which CPT codes they will reimburse, be sure to request a list of the CPT codes from each health insurance company with whom you are credentialed.
