The Emmy-nominated documentary On Life’s Terms: Mothers in Recovery explores the struggles and triumphs of five women in a gender responsive residential treatment program. The moms are determined to recover from substance use disorders to gain custody of their young children and heal from domestic violence, prostitution, incarceration and inter-generational family issues. Along with the women’s three year journey to recovery is the progression of drug laws and policies that impact mother and children, and will inspire hope for recovery.
