The NASW-CA Council on Aging is celebrating Social Work Month with a free virtual presentation to empower private practitioners with what you need to know to become a Medicare provider.

Medicare is increasingly in the news and on people’s minds. Although CMS now allows MFTs and LPCCs to enroll as Medicare providers, social workers are uniquely qualified to serve older adults. Participating in Medicare is a way for social workers to have a full and vibrant private practice. Learning about the (Original) Medicare Program, Medicare Part B Mental Health Benefit, and enrolling as a provider brings up the in’s and out’s of enrolling and billing Medicare Part B. So is it too much paperwork?, how do I figure out the reimbursement rates?, is it worth all the trouble? This overview on the role of LCSWs in Medicare Part B Behavioral Health offers accessible information to get started along with a connection to your colleagues.

The aim is for participants to:

  • Describe the connection between LCSWs and Medicare Part B
  • Identify three components of Medical billing and reimbursement
  • Name two essential Medicare documentation requirements

This event is free to attend! Registration deadline is March 15 at 12:00 am PT.
