NASW-CA’s Legislative Lobby Days Early Bird Deal has been extended to Monday, March 4! On April 21 and 22, you will gain hands-on lobbying experience and discover how all social workers, students, clinicians, organizers, and managers can have an impact on state policy.  

You have 7 more days to grab your Early Bird ticket and reserve your spot in Sacramento! In addition to early bird pricing, NASW members, Team Leaders, and Volunteers are eligible for an extra discount. Join us to create energy around social work legislation and advocate for relevant policy issues to state legislators and their staff. We look forward to advocating, learning, and networking with you, your colleagues, and partnering organizations.  

Your Lobby Days ticket gives you the opportunity to:  

  • Gain grassroots advocacy and lobbying experience at a legislative macro-level 
  • Engage directly with legislators, their staff, and other important political contacts to advance social justice 
  • Connect with potential employees and access new resources at our exhibitor tables  
  • Develop a network of contacts with other professionals and expand your social work community  
  • Earn up to 8 CEUs 
  • And much more!  

Early Bird Registration Discount for Legislative Lobby Days ends on Monday, March 4, after which the cost will increase to general registration rates. This is your last chance to save, so don’t delay your Lobby Day plans! 

2024 Legislative Lobby Days will be in-person for the Conference in Sacramento on Sunday, April 21, and Lobby visits on Monday, April 22.

Schedule

Saturday, April 20 | Evening

  • In-person Team Leader Training (light appetizers included – for Team Leaders ONLY); SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento
  • In-person Volunteer Training; SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento

Sunday, April 21 | 9:00 am – 3:30 pm

  • Learn the basics of lobbying and prepare for legislative appointments
  • In-person Conference; SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento

Monday, April 22 | Varying times

  • Legislative Meetings (optional) – appointments will be scheduled in person at the Capitol Annex Swing Space, 1021 O Street, Sacamento, CA 95814
  • Social Action Rally and Legislative appointments (Attendees must attend Sunday to participate in Monday’s appointments). The Rally will take place at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center due to limited availability on the Capitol grounds.
  • Important notice: The CA State Capitol is open in limited capacity due to renovation. Check here for tour schedule
