On March 2nd, Senator Eggman introduced Senate Resolution No. 14 to the California Legislature (SR14). This resolution aims to designate March 2021 as Social Work Month and states, “March 2021 is recognized nationally as Social Work Month, and this year’s theme is “Social Workers Are Essential,” which embodies the heroic contribution of the social work profession to our nation, including the work social workers have done to heal our nation during these times of pandemic, racial unrest, economic uncertainty, and political divisiveness.”
“Resolved by the Senate of the State of California, That March 2021 is proclaimed Social Work Month in the State of California, and the Senate commends the California Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers for its role in advancing professional social work and promoting the well-being of the people of California, and also encourages all Californians to take part in March “Social Workers are Essential” events throughout California.”
