On November 22, 2019, the Board of Behavioral Sciences announced the addition some new documents to the home page (https://bbs.ca.gov/) under the “What’s New, Important Updates.” By clicking on the link, visitors can read about the laws going into effect beginning January 1, 2020 and 2021. These documents relate to the following topics: providing notice to clients, suicide risk assessment requirement, license portability for applicants who hold a valid LCSW license from another state, and new exam vendor.
