RECAP: Recent BBS Announcements Regarding New Requirements Starting in 2020

As we prepare for 2020, BBS has made a few announcements in the last few weeks in regards to new laws going into effect starting January 1st. We’ve provided this easy-to-access recap with links for the most important recent announcements. Check it out:

On November 22, 2019, the Board of Behavioral Sciences announced the addition some new documents to the home page (https://bbs.ca.gov/) under the “What’s New, Important Updates.” By clicking on the link, visitors can read about the laws going into effect beginning January 1, 2020 and 2021. These documents relate to the following topics: providing notice to clients, suicide risk assessment requirement, license portability for applicants who hold a valid LCSW license from another state, and new exam vendor.
