NASW-CA’s Rebecca Gonzales Receives Gilman Wells Award

The NASW Council of Chapter Executives (COCE) is proud to announce the 2016 Chapter Awards winners.  Terry Werner, BSW, is the 2016 Outstanding Chapter Executive Director of the Year.  Terry is the Chapter Executive Director for the Nebraska and South Dakota Chapters.  Making the 455 mile commute from Lincoln Nebraska to Pierre South Dakota has paid off for the two chapters and NASW with increased membership in both chapters and a healthy chapter budget situation.

Rebecca Gonzales, California Chapter Director of Government Relations and Political Affairs, is the 2016 Gilman Wells Award Outstanding Chapter Staff recipient.  Rebecca manages and directs California NASW’s legislative program which tracks over 100 bills and last year resulted in 83 percent of the supported bills reaching the Governor’s desk and signed.  She also manages NASW largest Lobby Days/Advocacy Program with over 1,350 in attendance and net revenues of $25,500.  Rebecca manages California’s PACE program, which raised six times the amount of funds attributed to the dues checkoff.
