NASW-CA statement on SCOTUS Roe v. Wade opinion

Last night we learned of the draft opinion that SCOTUS will vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, and NASW-CA is prepared to fight. We stand with our fellow advocates and humans everywhere, and we will show up for abortion rights preserving our belief in self-determination and the right to choose. Our bodies belong to no one but our selves. We call on social workers and allies across the state and beyond to prepare – this is just the beginning, and we need your presence, your heart, your voice, and your willpower in this fight. We thank the Governor for his swift response to enshrine the right to choose in our state, and recognize the need for collective action to support others across state lines. Please stay connected with us as we announce more updates and action in the weeks to come.
