In late June, NASW leaders from across the nation convened in Washington D.C. at the Association Leadership Meeting (ALM) Conference for a few days of relationship-building, education, and action.
During the ALM Conference, NASW honored Janlee Wong, former Executive Director of NASW-CA, with a Special Service Award. Under Janlee’s leadership, the Chapter developed a strong social justice focus and a deeper commitment to social change. Most recently, during the search for a new CEO after the retirement of former CEO Angelo McClain, the NASW Board needed an Interim CEO. Janlee selflessly stepped in to offer his continued dedication to NASW and the social work community.
NASW-CA’s Executive Director, Kimberly Warmsley, LCSW, applauds Janlee Wong. She shares, “Congratulations to California’s NASW Chapter very own Janlee Wong an icon, legend, alliance builder and friend. May the seeds that have sowed thrive within the social work profession thrive for decades to come.”
NASW-CA is honored and proud to uplift our former Executive Director Janlee Wong for this well-deserved recognition and Special Service Award. Janlee embodies NASW values and ethics in his practice and we are inspired by his continued contributions to social welfare and the social work profession. Thank you, Janlee, for your lifelong dedication to breaking barriers through advocacy, education, leadership, and beyond.
