NASW-CA’s LGBTQ+ Council is gearing up to make waves advocating for LGBTQ+ practitioners and clients—and we want your help! Folks interested in gaining macro social work experience organizing and advocating on behalf of their community are welcome to join our newly formed Action Committee. Action Committee members would be involved in creating workshops, events, and community-building opportunities for LGBTQ+ social workers in all career phases (i.e., students, associates, licensees, and retirees). This position would require 2-5 hours per month of service. If you are interested in being a part of the LGBTQ+ Council’s Action Committee, please fill out the Action Committee application.
If you have any questions, reach out to the LGBTQ+ Council co-chairs: Essy Knopf (he/him) at ehsan.knopf@gmail.com and Verna Barrientos (she/her) at verna.n.barrientos@gmail.com.
