Federal Changes in Medicare

The NASW national office posted on its website a new practice alert informing members of recent federal changes in Medicare and the ICD-10-CM:  Medicare 2014 Increase and Delay in ICD-10-CM Implementation:

http://www.socialworkers.org/practice/clinical/2014/040314.asp

In summary, the 23.7 percent Medicare decrease in reimbursement for 2014 was averted by Congress and the ICD-10-CM has been delayed to at least October, 2015

The health/mental health community is waiting for  the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to release additional information on these matters.
