Director of Programs: Position Opening

Rainbow Services is a nonprofit organization providing emergency shelter, transitional housing, legal services, counselling and other supportive services to victims of domestic violence.  Rainbow Services seeks an experienced Director of Programs to oversee the provision of services including Rainbow’s emergency shelter, and transitional housing programs as well as its community-based service programs. The ideal candidate is mission-driven, politically savvy, and capable of advocating for policy and funding targeted to organizations providing services to victims of domestic violence.

In accordance with the mission and vision of the agency, the Director of Programs develops, evaluations, and implements program services, policies and procedures; evaluates participants and program needs and makes recommendations for change; supervises program coordinators and program aides; ensures compliance with all contractual agreements; participates in a variety of councils, task forces, coalitions and networking bodies; provides public and media presentations; and develops and maintains key business and community partnerships.

Qualifications

  • MSW (or equivalent), LCSW preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience in program development and supervision.
  • Understanding of trauma theory, with experience in implementing trauma informed service approaches, highly desirable.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
  • California Driver’s License required.
  • 40-hour state mandated Domestic Violence training required.
