Join the Asian Pacific Islander Social Work Council, Northern California for their free monthly virtual networking forum on September 17, from 10 am – 11 am PT! They will be joined by Jiewen (Janice) Huang as she reflects upon her experiences in her social work career.
Jiewen (Janice) Huang is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified grief educator, psychotherapist, and healing touch practitioner apprentice. Janice speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. She earned both of her BA and Master’s in Social Work, concentrating on health and mental health. Janice is also working on her EdD in Organizational Leadership with the emphasis on Organizational Development. Janice has worked in various settings, including Shanti’s Women’s Cancer Program, UCSF Oncology Radiation, home health, hospice and palliative, medical inpatient, UCSF Psychiatry, primary care behavioral health, field instructor, etc. Janice has received extensive training on ACT, EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, Sandtray, and her practice focuses on depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma. In addition to work, she is an advocate for colleagues, patients/clients, and communities by volunteering her time in social work, healthcare, equity, grief, end-of-life, and advance care planning topics. In her personal life, Janice especially enjoys solo camping and powerlifting.
