This mixed-media course is based on a 70-minute video recording of the live presentation by Dr. Frederic G. Reamer, PhD, a recognized expert in social work ethics. Dr. Reamer examines the ethical challenges of providing services and communicating with clients using social networking sites, e-therapy, online chat rooms, moderated forums, web-based psychoeducation, self-guided web-based intervention, video conferencing, avatar therapy, and so forth.
He also discusses the ethical challenges related to disclosure of confidential information, informed consent, boundaries, dual relationships, conflicts of interest, documentation, and termination of services. Registrants read online content before viewing the 70-minute video clip and instructor PPT slides. The online posttest must be passed with a score of 80% or better to print a certificate of completion.
