DEFINITION:
Plans, organizes and directs a program of clinical social work services for inpatients, outpatients, and their families at a very large County medical center.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Plans, organizes and directs the clinical and/or psychiatric social work services.
Evaluates existing and future clinical and/or psychiatric social work service needs in order to establish goals, objectives and standards for the provision of clinical and/or psychiatric social work services.
Delegates to first level supervisors the responsibility for implementing and evaluating the effectiveness
of the programs, policies, and procedures pertaining to the delivery of social work services to patients and their families as well as those pertaining to the licensure and certification of professional social work staff.
Develops policies and procedures pertaining to the delivery of clinical and/or psychiatric social work services to patients and their families as well as those pertaining to the licensure and certification of professional social work staff.
Participates with hospital administration, medical administration, and professional staff of other disciplines in the formulation of programs, policies, and procedures to integrate and coordinate services.
Conducts periodic quality assurance meetings with subordinate staff to establish, document, and review quality improvement tends and to implement plans for improvement.
